The NSF BioFoundry for Extreme & Exceptional Fungi, Archaea and Bacteria (ExFAB) provides automated, high-throughput platforms for discovering, phenotyping, and engineering extreme and non-model microbes. Its instrumentation supports cultivation (including anaerobic and extremophile conditions), automated liquid handling and sample processing, and the genetic engineering workflows that make hard-to-work-with organisms accessible for synthetic biology.

The Nanofabrication Facility is a 12,000 square foot class 1000/100 clean room. This facility has a proven track record of success in world class electronic and optoelectronic research prototype production.
