The UCSB Electron Microscopy, Diffraction and Micro-Analysis Lab provides quantitative micro-scale chemical and structural analysis through a Cameca SX-100 electron microprobe (EPMA) and an FEI Quanta 400f field-emission environmental SEM, both equipped with EDS, WDS/EBSD, and cathodoluminescence detectors, along with full on-site sample preparation (sectioning, mounting, polishing, and carbon/Au-Pd coating). The facility operates on a recharge basis and is open to UCSB, external academic, and industry users.
